    Hello,

I am a new user for VOB2MPRG Pro(v.3) and have strange issue with the preview function.
If I click on a title/chapter to preview (prior to extracting) it seems to pick one at random and then play sequentially.

For example: double click title#5 and it starts previewing title#11 chapter 1. Then it goes to title#11 chapter 2 etc..
It simply ignores any subsequent double clicks.

This makes identifying individual titles/chapters tricky to say the least.
Any ideas why it'd doing it or how to fix? As it is I have to extract everything on the disc and work out what is what afterwards - which kinda defeats the point of getting Pro in first place.

Is that all all DVDs or just one in particular?

Same problem here. No matter what chapter I select to preview I always get Chapter 1 of that particular title. I can't select chapters to preview.

The Title window in the preview display window when I click on the chapter I want to preview will very quickly, I mean its fast, show the correct chapter number and then it goes back to chapter 1 of the relevant title. Its like the chapter I click on isn't really being passed along to the software internally.

I suspect this is down to the User operation prohibition feature of DVDs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_operation_prohibition)

Is your source a retail DVD or ripped to the hard drive? Are you using AnyDVD or similar?

I'm using DVD Fab, ripped to hard drive. So the chapter preview feature is offered but not usable in a practical sense for vob's that we have ripped? That seems odd if so. Isn't how I'm using this software one of the primary applications or target audience?

How is it I can watch Chapters when hitting chapter skip when playing back the ripped dvd in Media Player, ARC Soft Total Media, etc.? Seems like the chapter information is present some how, some way.....

I just re-ripped the dvd with DVD Fab and used DVD Fab's setting to remove all UOP's. Made no difference. Behavior still the same in regards to the title window top mid-center preview window quickly shows the chapter number I am clicking on to preview then goes back and starts Chapter 1 over again.

Just tried DVD Fab setting UOP to remove UOP's from just the VOB. No difference. One more option left.......

UOP's out of IFO same result.

No UOP's at all, preview won't "stay" at chapter selected. No uop's in just VOB but left in IFO, same. No uop's in just IFO but left in VOB, same result.

The preview window continues to quickly show the chapter number in the various Title wanting to preview. Then quickly goes back to Title X, Chapter 1 and preview starts over at Chapter 1 each time.

I'm not a coder. But it seems to me the information "Preview Title x, Chapter Y" is not getting passed along to all the places it needs to. It sorta does but not quite.

Chapter preview does indeed work as you would expect.... But clearly not on this DVD (or is it all you have tried?).

Can you help me get to the bottom of this? Can you zip up all the .IFO files and attach them here? Also if i give you an FTP site - can you upload the first large vob file?

On any dvd's I've ripped that are TV shows with episodes, each episode a "Title" and then various "chapters" in those episodes (thinking segments in between each commercial break are the "chapters") it does not play back the chapter.

I tried it on several TV show ripped dvd's.

Having said that I just tried it on 2 movies. The Title/chapter playback does work for movie dvd's although once and awhile the playback is really fast.

Let me look at getting the files uploaded somewhere.

You want all the files? The entire disk? If not which ones specifically?

I need all the .IFO files and at least the first VOB (VTS_01_1.VOB).

I can provide you with an FTP site to upload if that is easier....

I know you answered that but there isn't one large VOB file. I'm .raring the whole ripped disk. Please give me the ftp site. It will be too large a file for me to use the free Filesend site.

Will see what the file size difference is between whole disk and individual files. The whole disk is going to be quite large.

Its a great program by the way. While I can use DVD Fab to make mpg's, yours is much easier and faster.

Target is using mpg's on a networked drive from dvd's I own to playback via network using PS3 Media Server software through my PS3 Slim. Have tried lots of file formats and the mpg format seems to be most stable and compliant.

If you have a ps3 you should look at PS3 Media Server. Its amazing.

In that context it sure would be nice IF in the conversion process there was a way to name the final mpg's. No its not a big deal to go and rename the final file. Just would be nice to have doing so as part of the process. So for TV shows I could name the episode as its making the mpg. Name the final mpg for the name of the movie, etc. Again NOT a big deal. Very easy to do so after the mpg is made.

    Still raring here.....

Uploading now but its not the whole disk. Its the ifo's and the vts_1 vob file rar file. At least it appears to be.

Going to take awhile and I have to get to work. I will check on it through the morning.

Given how long it takes to upload I might just compress the entire disk and upload it. I'd rather let it be uploading during the day when we're both at work then wait until tonight to find out you need it and then we're talking hours to upload it.

    Are we doing things differently?

Yes we are doing it differently.

Go to Title 12, expand chapters, click on a chapter to play back.

You are clicking on Title 1, expanding it, going to 12, expanding it, etc.

Go directly to 12, 11, etc., expand it, click on chapters.

    Each title is an episode.
