I need to upgrade my old version (2 versions ago) of Adobe Premiere Elements. My problem is I don't know what to get. Two new versions are coming out:
adobe premiere elements 8 available on oct. 23
pinnacle studio 14 on oct. 15

I very first started with Pinnacle but it was so buggy and switched to Premiere Elements and for the most part was happy, but things may have changed with Studio by now. Adobe has a rebate that ends on the 31st so I need to make a decision fairly quickly.

    Any recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

I once bought a Chevrolet that turned out to be a lemon. Brand new car broke down on me once a month. All sorts of problems that could never be fixed even though it was under warranty. I had so many problems getting satisfaction that I vowed to never buy another Chevy -- even if they improved their product.

Why would you give money once again to a company that has a well-established history of ripping people off with a substandard product and poor customer support? So what if things are a little bit better for now?

Okay. The last version of Studio I had was years ago and like anything else, things can change. Guess you're saying that hasn't been the case. Thanks for the reply.

No, things CAN change, and maybe the product is wonderful now. But because of the long history of poor workmanship and service, why start rewarding them with your hard-earned dollars now? If Pinnacle screwed you in the past, why would you want to deal with them again -- especially if the competitors have a better track record -- ?

For editing, Pinnacle Studio 12 is nice, but Premiere Elements is still better.
For capturing, it's the other way around. (Excluding DV, as that's not really "capturing".)
For DV workflow, Premiere is best.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I'm off to buy the new Premiere Elements.
