I am looking for a DVD/VCR RECORDER WITH A USB PORT that will play my videos via Flash Drive through my HD TV -- I am interested in Recommendations -- It is hard to tell if this feature is available by info on the net or even by asking a sales rep-
I did manage to find out that the following DVD VCR RECORDER combo units have this feature: SONY rdrvx560 ($170) and the LG rc 897t ( $220 )
Are there any other concerns about the above units that I should consider? Any Net reviews ?
Does anyone know of any others or what is your opinion of the above--
Thanks,,,,Ralph

Dont buy combo units like that, best to have a separate dvdrecorder and vcr in case you have to use a tbc between the vcr and dvdrecorder for copy guarded tapes you own, cant copy those types of tapes with a combo unit plus they are built cheap.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Hi Johns0,
Thanks you for your quick reply--
My purpose for this type of unit is mainly to copy DVR ( NON-COPYRIGHT) TV programs that I wish to save and to make singing or speaking recordings-- The VCR part for converting ( non- copyright ) tapes to DVD is essentially just an extra since the price differential is not much --
I am interested in your comment that combo units are made CHEAP-- Is it the VCR part that is made cheap or the whole thing ?
Are you saying that DVD RECORDERS are made better ? If so , why and do you know of any that you can recommend?
Still looking for the combo unit info as as above.
I sincerely appreciate your info--
Thanks,,,,,Ralph

Have you researched the Western Digital media player (Model: WDAVN00BN) for your flash drive files?
Prices should be no more than $100.00. -
Hello LJB,
Thanks for your help, but I would still need the DVD VCR RECORDER COMBO , for everything else so it would not be worth it-- regular 4gb or 8gb flash drives to plug into a USB port are basically all I need --
Thanks,,,,Ralph
