    hi i need a avi and wmv video compressor, can any 1 suggest me a software for both formats..

    For wmv, Windows Media Encoder is both free and good.

    "AVI" is non-descriptive. You need to specify a codec.

    thnx fr the encoder but wat abt avi files i want to reduce the file size....n can i reduce the wnv file size with windows media encoder?? n i didnt get u..abt specifying abt d codec fr avi

  5. Use VirtualDub to make AVI files. Use Xvid, Divx, or x264vfw for small file size.

    Use gspot or avicodec to identify what the original codec was in your avi files.

    You can use programs like super or xvid4psp or vitualdub for converting avi files. The first two will work with wmv. You need a special version of virtualdub to work with wmv. I don't remember which one right now though.
