I am editing a video and I imported video clips into Adobe Prmiere CS4 and the taskbar is cluttered with them. How can I fix them?

  2. You're probably using format that are not natively supported by Premiere, so it is resorting to directshow decoding, or avisynth import plugin and directshow to import

You can disable the icons in the ffdshow configuration. You will probably have to restart premiere for this to take effect

I don't understand wat do you want to "fix"? Remove the clutter of ffdshow icons? Well, each video you opened was opened with ffdshow video and audio codec. Either you use different codecs for them, or in ffdshow's codec options select "none" to show tray icon and you won't see any of them (if that's what you were asking about)
