Adding text to video....

I need to add "property of" to a video, the video would be a avi file. I would like the text to be there the length of the video. Suggestions?

I've had no luck with this project. There isn't a easy way to do this?
What program will create a bmp file that is just text?

I have the bmp file, when I try to save in virtualdub mod the file exceeds 8 gigs. The orginal flie is a 240mb vob. Suggestions?
