As an update to all those interested, I am about 10 rows down on this page under the heading..."convert 8mm tape to my computer hard drive"...

As I explained in my other post I was using this footage for a TV commercial only, well after reading many other posts it seems the best method to get where I want to be is to record my editing takes on my 8mm camcorder..analog.. and then take it and a spare computer hard drive to a professional person and they will down load onto my hard drive in any format I need, then I can edit on my comp and burn the DVD, cost for one tape or less..about 30.00
