I'm going to a music gig in December and i'm thinking about getting a camcorder or some sort to film it. As you can see my budget is pretty low, but with so many small cheap options out these days i'm thinking there must be one that can do what i want for the money. For example i was looking at the Samsung HMX-U10, which looked good until i got to battery life.

I'd like the camera to be able to do the following:

    - Be able to shoot in at least DVD quality.
    - Work well in low light condtions (ie no main lighting, but light on the stage)
    - Battery life of atleast 1hr 30, or a device that allows me to change batteries quickly.
    - Obviously to go with the above, it needs the option of adding memory big enough for up to 2hrs recording.

If there are some good options available please let me know, but if i'm being unrealistic then just tell me.

    Thanks.

Small and working well in low light conditions don't go together. Low light requires big glass which means a big camera.

At that budget, I'd go with a good used DV cam with a larger sensor. Batteries and DV tape are cheap.

For small h.264 cams, flash ram memory + lithium batteries will chew up most of your budget and the picture will be awful especially on low bit rate settings. Small sensors get less light and noise goes up.
