  2. You need the Haali Media splitter or Gabest Matroska splitter to playback these types of files, or download a codec pack or VLC media player

  3. Check if your file is corrupted.

Installing multiple codec packs is a bad idea. They may conflict.
K-Lite should have everything you need. (No comment on CCCP, haven't used it.)

K-Lite includes Media Player Classic. Can it play the file?
Can it play other MKV files?

If not, go back to K-Lite's config and see if it activated Haali Media splitter; it should have by default.

Media Player Classic-Home Cinema is better choice for MKV playback. It has added features for MKVs over the plain MPC. Some on-board video chips are also marginal for MKV/HD playback.

And when you say it 'Cant play..', does it do anything, even play a few frames? VLC should be able to play it with no codec packs added. But VLC may skip a little if you don't have sufficient processing power.

That's the version included in the current K-Lite.

You should get some kind of error message. If so, what is it?

No error message, I double click the file to play, Media Player Classic start and immidiately pause at the very end of the video. When I click the Play button again, nothing happens.

Interesting. A codec pack that includes a player that doesn't need a codec pack.
    Have a good one,

You still need codecs installed if you need to encode but if not Media Player Classic-Home Cinema will be enough.
