I'm trying to set up an embeddable slideshow that I can embed on several website. Flickr seemed to work well, but they don't give you much in terms of configuration, or options for the embedded show. For example, I get complaints "it goes by too fast" etc..

Are there any hosted galleries which will give me (or the user) a lot of control when viewing an embeddable slideshow?

All I know of is Picasa and Flickr, and they aren't helping much

It depends on what sites you wish to embed. You could make your own slideshow, set the photo duration yourself, convert it to xvid, divx etc etc and upload to a site like:
    http://www.zshare.net/
The above site and some others like it allow you to "share" the video on sites like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter.

Zshare appears to be a file sharing/storage site. This is not what I'm looking for. For storage though, I use Amazon S3 and highly recommend it. Anyways, to be more clear, I mentioned sites like Flickr and Picasa because they enable me to continue adding photos to the slideshow as I acquire them. What I'm essentially doing is making a testimonials slideshow and add to it as I get more slides. Then the embedded slideshow will be always up to date wherever it's shown. Does it make more sense? The problem with Flickr is that there isn't a lot of obvious controls for the viewer to slow it down, etc in order to read the text.
