  1. I have used TMPGEnc several times successfully to convert an avi to a VCD compatible MPG using the guides. However, I've run across a particular avi file that is 242MB but when converting it, it creates an MPG files in excess of 1.5GB (running out of disk space so the process bombs out before I actually get to see if it finishes). I'm using the same settings as always and have converted other avi's since, but have tried a few times unsuccessfully on this file. - Thanks

  2. OK - FYI - found a workaround to whatever was the reason for the problem. I used the decompress utility that came with the avi2vcd 1.4.1 beta to create an "uncompressed" (I guess) avi file (it was about 700MB). Then used TMPGEnc to create the VCD-compatible MPG which came out about 450MB (I used avi2vcd 1st but the sound was out of sync with the video). So not sure exactly what the issue was - but fumbled my way around it......
