I am new to creating video on CD. I have been browsing during one month all the fora and questions/responses on how to create the best quality clips on CD. I have downloaded tons of templates and tried to understand the relationship between the parameters.
Here is my question: I am only interested in quality which comes as close as possible to DV.
I use only DV video material, premiere 6.01, videoserver plugin,TMPENC 2.52PLUS(also tried LSXMPEG and CCE lite) and Nero 5.5 to burn. I have a PAL 16:9 TVand a pioneer 646A DVD player.
I have tried tens of different combinations but I have never been able to create a perfect clip with no blockiness or good sharpness.
I can see I need 720x576 for good still or slowmotion images, I set noise reduction, interlace output, 16:9 and keep aspect ratio 2, use 2 pass VBR with 500 min-1500 avg and 2500 max bitrates and experimented also with 500 - 2250 - 3000, and much more combinations SVCD/XSVCD.
None of the tests are excellent.

Is there no rule or flowchart that one can follow to define the most appropriate settings to get maximum quality or am I trying for the impossible and should I use only DVD?
