  1. I have a cheap Funai SV2000 set top DVD recorder I got at Walmart a couple of years ago. It's been rarely used, but I'd like to use it to burn some discs just to get them onto my PC for editing, etc.

My question is, how can I reuse the same DVD over and over rather than burn a new one for each capture? I tried playing with finalizing, not finalizing, etc., but just wasn't able to figure out the right combination of steps to be able to reuse them.

    Thanks in advance,

    Use +RW or -RW media.

    There is none.

As classfour said, use RW (rewriteable), not R media.

You can reuse these dozens of times, only limited by how careful you are in not scratching them up.

  4. As simple as it sounds, that may actually be my problem. The discs I've tried (two types) both say RW, but in other places, just say DVD+R. I'm not sure in that instance what else the RW would stand for, but I just asked my wife to pick up some of these while she was out.

Yea that RW "logo" is quite confusing for people new to the game.

  6. Looks like that was it, thanks for the help. Man, it's nice not wasting discs.
