I have a Canon HF100 AVCHD camcorder that produces excellent picture quality, and when I edit the video from it, if I render back to AVC format using Vegas I can tell the loss of quality. The camera came with the Pixela Imagemixer program, which is an abomination as far as the editing process goes, but it does one thing excellently and far better than any pro NLE, which is producing a mostly untouched AVCHD video which has only been recompressed a few frames around cuts, since you can do more or less frame accurate editing with it. But the video quality is still as perfect as when watching the footage from the camera itself connected to the TV set.

Are there any other options as far as frame cutters go, to edit AVCHD mts or m2ts files, even if they don't allow frame accurate editing, but that don't re-encode the video in any way, and are rather easy to use? I'm talking something simple like VirtualDub with a plugin or something. I know there was something like this some time ago but I remember trying it and it didn't work.

Most will cut on I frames which means half second cut points.
