I am trying to encode some mkv videos to xvid using VirtualDubMod with K-lite codec(mega pack). I specify audio output as MP3 128bit in the xvid codec setting. However, the output xvid file is encoded with PCM audio. Please help comment on what I may have done wrong. Thanks.

Maybe I'm not understanding, but you would select the audio output format in the 'Streams>Stream list' and use 'Full processing mode'. If you want to use MP3, you should also have the Lame MP3 ACM codec installed.

Have you set the audio mode to Full processing ?
Are you sure you have set MP3 as the compression type ?

Thank very much for such prompt replies.
I am using 2 pass encoding. So, I have set the audio to full processing using Lame MP3 at the stream list in the 2nd pass ?
