    I Think we can extract pictures from avi files using virtualdub, the problem is that I dont remember how to do it.

    Can someone please if that is possible and how to do it ??

    If you want to save the entire avi as images, File->Export->Image Sequence (or change the frame rate if you want images every second/minute/ etc).

    AlanHK I dont see Snapshot !!!!


    In the meantime I found a way to do it:

    I stop the movie at the picture I want to extract then I select EDIT > COPY > and paste it where I want and that's it.

    Looks like that is just in VirtualDubMod. (It has lots of such useful features, so I use this mostly even though it's getting quite old compared to the pure VirtualDub.)

    In VirtualDub: Video/Copy source frame to clipboard
    and then you paste into a paint, etc app (Irfanview works very well for this).

    Yes I have virtualdubmod too.

    The way you do it is more or less he same I did (I paste it to paint too).
