Ok basically when i open the .idx file and press start, the characters are unrecognisable so I can't read what is there.

Googled everywhere looking for a suitable fix but no luck there.
Here's the .idx file and .sub file i'm using, can anyone try this themseleves to see if it's actually a problem my end or a problem with the actual subs.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Mark.

Does the sub/idx look okey in a software player together with vsfilter? If they look the same as the above image you can't do much.

I wont download from rapidshare...wait 1 minute to download something. No thanks. .

Try also subresync (included in vobsub) and AviDemux(under Tools->OCR something).

Yeh i use subresync the majoirty of the time, normally with subresync when i've typed the letter it will remember it and takes me no longer then 5-10 minutes to finish the process but when i tried it using this sub file, i have to type out every single letter, even when i've already typed it, and thats gonna take me hours!. I'm totally conufsed on what's going wrong! lol.

@Mark-2009 - I sympathize. I've seen an example on an English IDX file for an Asian movie where the font changed constantly on the subtitles, it switched back and forth between italics and normal text, and so forth and it required about 30 minutes of typing to get it all. It sucked. You may not necessarily have to do it for hours, but it could take a while.

Note that I am assuming that the language for the subs is supposed to be English or another European language that uses the Latin alphabet like Gaelic. Non-Latin character sets have different problems with various subtitle utilities, but I don't feel like going into it as it seems that this is not your problem.

  7. Try "Use IDX's file offset" in Options->Global Options.
