  1. When I play back DVD using PowerDVD in my PC and use the TV out of my Radeon 7500 card - the picture shows up perfectly on my TV. However when I use Windows Media Player to playback DivX or SMR encoded stuff - while the picture appears in the WMP window on the PC - on the TV there is just a black box - anybody have any ideas how to make the DiVX /SMR content playback so I can see it on my TV?

  2. I have a Radeon 8500 and I'm having the same problem. TV- out works great... I can see my whole desktop on both monitor and TV... But, when I play divx or vcd on windows media player all I see is a black box on TV where the movie should be. It plays fine on the monitor. Perhaps it's refreshing too fast for the TV? I've tried playing with different resolutions and nothing so far.

... Seems like other people are having this problem & I haven't seen any answers yet....

    :-?

  4. You must set the tv to primary in the ATI control panel.

  5. I had the same problem with my Radeon VE card. Like mentioned above u have to select your TV as your primary screen and your monitor as the secondary monitor. By doing this your will be able to run and format in Windows Media Player, The Playa or whatever prog, but when you do this your monitor which now is your secondary screen resets to 60Hz. This is very annoying because when you watch the movie on your TV you will see some flickering in the picture which can be disturbing while watching a movie. You won't notice it that much in animation movies and in bright pictures, but in dark colours it is very obvious. Still trying to find out how i can get around this. Dont understand why PowerDVD is able to send video through the SVHS when the monitor is set to primary! Quite annoying!!!
