Try options => internal filters => source filters => checkmark mp4/mov
Exit & restart the player for changes to take place -
Thanks for the quick reply.
I already tried that, but without success. -
Not sure, as it works for me, but you can try intalling QT Alternative
Do you mean it's not playing at all? or just not with ffdshow to decode? -
I'ts playing, but not via FFDShow.
That's just the problem. I have QTLite installed, but when playing the .mov file in MPC-HC in fullscreen, the video is pixelated. If I rename to .mkv and play in fullscreen, the video is not pixelated anymore but smooth. So I wanted to playback via FFDShow in order to get smooth video. -
What format is the .mov? use mediainfo for specfics on the video & audio
How do you have the internal decoders of mpc-hc configured? e.g. dxva for h.264 ? or ffmpeg for h.264? ffmpeg uses the same library as ffdshow so you should get the same performance. Change the threads to 2 in the configuration since you have dual-core -

Number of decoding threads in FFDShow is set to 2. -
I mean source filter => check mp4/mov
transform filter => h264/aac (ffmpeg) => check and double click , decoding thread number = 2
exit & restart player
Does it still play poorly?
If you uncheckmark everything, it should default to the next highest merit (priority) system decoder and splitter. You can render the file in graphstudio or graphedit to see what filter that is. You can change the merit of filters with graphstudio or radlight filter manager. But one reason why people choose MPCHC is because of it's internal filters -
I checked MP4/MOV in the 'Source Filters' and checked the H264/AVC (FFmpeg) in 'Transform Filters' and 'decoding thread number' was already set to 2.
This is the graph I get in GraphStudio:

OK you are on Win7, i missed that. I don't use Win7, but there are some tools and registry tweaks
