  1. I have many large DV Files that I wish to convert to MPEG-2 files? I want to put them on DVD and not lose any video/audio quality.

  2. by definition, if you convert one file into another (using different CoDecs) you are going to lose quality. Granted MPEG-2 is fantastic at high Bitrates like DVDs, but if you were to take the master tape they made the DVD from and capture it as an AVI (uncompressed) and compare it to the DVD (MPEG-2) you will see some quality loss. if you use high bitrates the quality loss may be minimal or not even noticed, but there is loss. so if u wanna keep the masters around for perfect quality copies thats about the only way to keep lossless copies. but if u dont mind losing some quality, then go ahead and make an MPEG-2 DVD out of the DV (AVI Type-2).

as for how to do so, try under the CONVERT section in the green logo to the left of this page.

TMPGEnc supports DV, and thats how to encode the DV into an MPEG-2 VOB file for a DVD.
