    Hi ppl,

I need help converting some dvd's. I have a bunch of dvd's which has been converted using an LG combo recorder (VHS and DVD). Old VHS tapes has been played and recorded onto the dvd on the same unit. Now I can play these dvd's in LG dvd players, but I cant watch them on other dvd players, my pc also just sees the dvd's as blank cd's.

Is there somehow a way that I can get software or codec to be able to view these discs, so that I can convert them to standard dvd format?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

I've heard DVDDecrypter can finalize discs but I cannot verify that. Without that disc finalized you can get the data from the disc but it is NOT easy and probably not free. Look into ISOBuster and CDRoller for data recovery from discs.

Thanks for leading me in the right direction. I used Nero 8 express to finalise my disc.. just started a dvd session then went to disc info and completed the session.. It now works..

Now for stage 2, i want to rip these videos onto my pc to do some filtering on them as they are currently directly recorded from the vhs tapes.
