I use virtual dub to convert from TV Card DVB-T mpg to XVID. I am wondering why is converted video few seconds shorter. For example - scene which appears in MPEG2 on 18:00 min (27000 frames), in XVID appears in 17:50 minutes (26800 frames). Sound synchronization is ok.

There's probably some unforeseen (by you
) frame rate conversion happening.
Have a look at the input file's properties, and at VirtualDub's Frame Rate settings.
