Can a member help me with this problem, folder default is tiles which is driving me crazy. Is there anyway to select small icons by default .... really appreciate some help here.

I'm guessing you're talking about in Windows Explorer?

There should be a "Views" button at the right of the Explorer tool bar - select the view you want from the drop-down menu. Then go into "Tools"->"Folder Options...". Go to the "View" tab and click the "Apply to All Folders" button. Now any folder you open should now display small icons (or whatever view you selected).

    nah...
In Windows Explorer right-click on your tool bar and choose "Customize..."
In the drop down at the bottom choose your icon size.

That customizes the Toolbar icons, not how the file icons inside the window are displayed - which is what I assumed blinky88 was asking about, since he mentioned "tiles" (note there's no "tiles" option in your screenshot )

ah! icons representing the files in a folder, not the icons on the toolbar...

    Hi all,

Jim, thank you very much it's been giving me the trots for years every time I load a system. I knew there had to be a way ..but.. never able to find it.

Thanks to all for taking time out to respond, appreciated.

No prob, glad it worked. That's one of the first things I change on a new system - usually to "Details".
