ok heres the problem im having-most of the time i can burn dvd's with no problem but like a couple times a week i get dvd's that take up to 30 minutes to burn when normal burn time is around 14 min. total with verify on nero 7-so heres the thing on nero and imgburn or any other burn program those 30 min. vids come out complete but during playback they are pixlated and get more pixlated as the movie goes on-usual pixlation starts to get noticable at around a hour into the movie-with a few pixlated spots before a hour but not noticable-also when rewinding over a just seen pixlated spot it isnt there but movie will still be pixlated-now i get all my movies from usenet and this only happens with some movies -most others burn fine as i reguarlly burn 20 movies a day and can list my most recent problem movies if need be-but when they take longer that 16 min to burn i know that they are damaged during the burn. dma is on as i checked and rechecked that problem-also even if its a iso and i extract it with iso buster or shrink it with dvdshrink i have the same problem-fixvts is also of no help-i have 4 nero burn logs to show-the first 3 are burned correctlly and work fine the last 1 is damaged- it says it burned and verified fine but the problem will still be there-i did not check it but after many times with this problem i know it to be damaged-heres some of my computer specks-and i have this problem on another dell computer as well-they are both different computers

When your burner slows down during the burning process means its crappy media, simple as that.Time to buy better dvds such as Taiyo Yuden Media.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Every one of those logs seems to have a 'Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)' error. And using 'MCC, Media Type ID: 004' is very questionable, usually ranging from bad to poor in quality.
The first error usually relates to a communication problem between the system and your burner. If your burner is IDE, replace the data cable. If that fails, maybe the burner itself is dying.
But the first thing I would try is better media. One sign of cheap media is inconsistancy with the media quality. And if you are downloading crap quality movies from the internet, that may also be your problem. -
i use windata dvd+r i usually replace my burner every 3 to 6 months although its been a while since ive done that -now with ur ideas it apears to maybe be a combination of both -i will atemt to fix the problem and post a update-but "Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)' error. And using 'MCC, Media Type ID: 004" what does the sense key mean and does MCC, Media Type ID: 004 refer to the dvd in use and what is a good mcc number to use-also is there a program to use to check the drives operation quality-other than using a rewritable dvd as a test medium as the verbatim rewritable only burns at 4x. - but as to the dvd's in use some times i can burn 20 dvd's in a row with no problems. by the way the same type of dvd was used to burn all of these. thanks for all ur help

It's sort of a generic Nero error. Usually it means that Nero was looking for a particular memory location and couldn't find it. It could be because of bad media, a failing burner, a bad data cable, a bad hard drive or something running in the background on the computer, stealing CPU cycles. This page of Nero errors is from our friends at Digital Digest: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=45942
Easiest is to substitute known good DVD media and see if that helps, then check for processes running on the computer that my be interrupting the data flow. Then change out the data cable, then change out or substitute the burner. I would also try ImgBurn and see if it's error log gives any better information.
MMC 004 is the manufacturer of the media, no matter what brand is on the label. If you go to our 'DVD Media' page to the left, you would get this by inputting MCC 004 into the 'Search Media Code box: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmediasearch=&dvdmediadvdridsearch=MCC.....004+&ty...+or+List+Media It generally lists as 'good', but there is a lot of variation. Some known good brands of DVD media are Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden, though the latter is almost always only available from mail order sources.
