I have 6 folders with some pictures that I'd like to create a DVD sideshow of. It's the firs time I use Pfotodex ProShow Producer
and so I'm having trouble with it. To start with one of my folders is around 42MB big. When I add all the containing photos to a new show it shows me over 450MB on a DVD. There must be something wrong with it. Secondly I'm not sure if I create the DVD the right way. I created 6 shows, then I created a project, added my shows to that project, went to Create Output and chose Six Thumbnais in Layout. In shows I can see that it takes 3.5GB even though all my photos and music used for the Project is less than 1GBWhat am I doing wrong?

You aren't doing anything "wrong" except comparing apples to oranges.
The pictures that only take 42MB are static files.
But you are putting them together to make MOVIES that have 32 pictures every second. So, you can't take 5 pictures at 1MB each and make a 10 minute movie and expect it to only be 5MB (5 each x 1MB photo size).
It's better to think in terms of length. You can put about 2 hours of "movies" (slideshows) on a DVD. So if you have 100 pictures then each can take up to 12 seconds before you run out of space or you can do 200 pictures for 6 seconds each or you can do 400 pictures for 3 seconds each. All those combinations will result in a full DVD.
