I have 1 .srt file. I want 2 subtitle entries inside that file to overlap in timing. I'll call those subtitle entries "entries", so I don't have to say "multiple subtitles at once" and be misunderstood for saying multiple languages at once.
Now, the question. Can I have 2 entries displaying at the same time? I've tried overlapping timings, but the following entry won't display until the former entry has expired.
Many dialogues are overlapping, especially in powerful scenes where there's an argument. It would be fantastic to be able to display both actors' lines without resorting to a tall stack of hyphens.

Goto the lines that you want to show at the same time and add the dialogue to each line.For example:
00:00:54,709 --> 00:01:02,217
Hi bob,how are you?
00:01:02,217 --> 00:01:14,183
Hey jim,i',m ok.
00:00:54,709 --> 00:01:02,217
Hi bob,how are you?
