Just finished putting together my brand new Core i7 PC with 6 gigs of DDR3 1600 RAM and Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition.

All of my existing encoding/editing/authoring software is 32-bit.

Can someone tell me what, if any, encoding/editing/authoring software is currently available in native 64-bit editions? And is it worth looking for 64-bit editions, or will existing 32-bit editions work just fine?

    Thanks!

  2. Vegas and VirtualDub are a few. Performance gains are minimal.

64bit apps can if properly written use more ram. doesn't mean they will, but it could prevent slowdowns caused by the app using the hard disk swap file.

vegas pro9 has a combined 32/64bit installer. adobe premiere pro cs4 software is "optimized" for 64-bit operating systems, but is not a native 64bit app.
