vcd mostly dont work,why?

im have downloaded a load of music videos from kazaa all play fine on the pc,but when i burn them with nero,they wont play on my dvd player,1 or2 will buy=t mostly they freeze or jump,bascially unwatchable,when i go to burn nero gives me the option to encode them,but does not do anything,says 100% encoded,but does not burn(just freezes me thinks).
i try to encode the mpeg files within nero but when i bring up the encoding option it shows no files,what is going on,i have also tried to encode them with tmpgenc but to no avail,am i just stupid or is there something amisss here.

by the way i downloaded instant cd,and keep get the same error when i try to burn my vcd,it reads:Checked file : C:\Program Files\KaZaA\My Shared Folder\Linkin Park - Points Of Authority.mpeg

Invalid Rate_Bound 3512
Invalid fixed_flag or CSPS_flag

The parameters of the file you are attempting to use do not comply with the VideoCD specification.

Recommendation:
If you are sure that the MPEG2 file is not corrupt and within the specifications of the target system you can click on Ignore to continue and use the specific MPEG2 file.
Otherwise you should create an MPEG2 file which complies with the standard. Some MPEG2 creation utilities allow MPEG2 files to be created according to the Super VideoCD standard.
This option should ALWAYS be used when creating MPEG2 files to be used in InstantVideo for creating a Super VideoCD.

can anybody shed some light on this.

There's your answer. The videos you downloaded do not ahere to the standard VCD specs. Now you can proably still burn it (nero usally just warns you but let's you continue), but there's a chance that it wont work on your DVD player.

I suggest you use this site to education yourself on what the VCD specs are.
