Hi everyone,

First of all, apologies if this isn't the appropiate forum to post my problem. I did look carefully at them all especially under the hardware banner and this seemed to be the most appropiate.

As the subject line suggests, I sent an email to Joytech with my problem but no replies so far. Please could you have a look yourselves below and suggest anything I could do or should know. Lots of thanks.

Hi,
I hope I have reached the right support department (apologies if I haven't and please direct me to the correct one) but here goes:
I bought the Joytech HDMI Tri-Link Switcher (PS3) last year from Amazon to connect my laptop, DVD player and cable box (Virgin UK) to my TV. The cable box doesn't seem to suffer from any problems but the other two, especially the laptop has an audio problem. Every so often (minutes) the sound disappears. With the laptop, if I choose the mute option in Windows XP Home audio properties, wait a few seconds, then uncheck the mute box, the sound comes back but only for a short while. I also have to make sure the DVD player is on stanby otherwise it may not come on at all. When wanting to watch from the DVD player, I have to sometimes switch the unit off then on again to bring the sound back on. I have connected the laptop and DVD player diretly to the TV in turn and found they each work without any problems.
Can you tell me what could be happening here and if I can resolve it?
Many thanks for your attention and hope to hear from you soon with good news!
Kindest regards,
David
