I have m2ts files from my Panasonic HDC-HS300 which I recorded at 23.976 FPS and they play PERFECTLY smooth when just viewing the original file on my PC. But after I convert it to a format with the same FPS, ie. Quicktime 23.976, h.264 23.976, mpg2 23.976, they ALL come out with a sort of pulsing hesitation about 4-6 times per second. Thinking that my PC may not be handling the viewing of the new files on my PC I burned it to a DVD and on my TV it looks just as bad. I then decreased the resolution of the output file to ensure my computer could handle it, but that made no difference.

I then tried converting the files to 25fps and 29.97fps. They came out different (worse) but not correctly.

How do I get my flawless .m2ts files to convert in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to flawless re-encoded video.

It's not acceptable to explain to a potential customer that, "the original recording will be PERFECT! But the video I give you will be... eh... not so much."

Encoding with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 did not cause these problems.
Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus did not cause these problems.

  2. Why is this in the DVD section? Is your end format goal DVD or blu-ray or something else?

Are you certain your files are 23.976 native? Some camcorders record 24p in 30i transport stream, and it maybe that AME is mishandling or misreading it

Are you feeding it directly to AME, or though PP CS4 first? What were your project and sequence settings in PP CS4 if you did that first?

What export settings in AME did you use? Bitrate? set to interlaced or progressive?

Maybe you can upload a sample to a free hosting site (eg. mediafire.com, megaupload.com) and I will check if I can replicate your issues (it might be a corrupted install or a system configuration problem on your end)
