I have been collecting music videos for some years now and it has never been a problem until now. While newer videos are avi the older are always MPEG and now I have encountered audio problems with a few of these older files.

    Example:
when I look at info on a file it says MPEG1 Muxed. This file has an audio sync problem. It seems the video is running slower than the audio.

Another example is a file that says MPEG2 Muxed and here I can add start and end points but when I trim the file video is removed. Other MPEG2 Muxed files show none of these sympoms and can be trimmed and edited normaly.

I use Mpeg streamclip for my MPEGs and it has worked in the past. On a side note I tried to use QT to export the whole clip to another more QT friendly format but when I try this the program says there isn't any audio tracks.

I turn to you for help as I have done in the past. What more information do you need to help me solve this problem? Thank you all

    /Kim

Be sure to test play the mpeg1s using different players like VLC and see if you get same sync problem.

And try another mpeg2 editor like avidemux and you can also use it to reconvert mpeg1/mpeg2 to other formats.

I can play it in VLC and QT without sync problems. its when I load it into MPEG streamclips that it fails to cync. Going to try the avidemux to see if there is a difference.

Thanks for the fast reply Mr B
