i cant seem to get my nero to overburn... even with the options set correctly... it simply refuses to overburn even 4 mb of data to a 700 mb disc.. so i need a burner that will not fail to overburn

I suspect your sig doesn't work because it exceeds the size set in the forums rules
    Signatures
Max 3 lines text using font size 12(bbcode font=Normal) or smaller and using forum width 680 pixels.
Max image size 400x60 and max file size 10kbyte.
No animated images and only gif,jpg or png images.
Not all burners will overburn, not all media is good for overburning, and Nero is a waste of hard drive space.

Try Imgburn, but it may not be a software issue.

Nero is OK for overburning, making audio CDs and making data discs. I don't recommend it for anything else. Glad to see you figured out your problem.

By the way, if you are going to have to do this a lot, you might consider instead buying some of the 90 minute CD-Rs. You'll have to order those online. Note that they don't adhere to CD standards. I've had no playback problems with them, but some devices might have problems with them. If you buy some, burn them at the slowest speed your burner allows for best results. 4x burning or slower seems to work best with these discs.

Go to the help menu and follow the links to the tutorials. Imgburn does a lot more than just burn images, and it leaves Nero for dead
