ok. i have pal dvd that i ripped to mkv. Is it possible to then use convertxtodvd to burn it to dvd and have it be viewable on a ntsc set. I regularly convert and burn mkv's to dvd and they are watchable. basically, is it possible to essentially convert pal to ntsc this way?

    Thank you

ConvertX does a fairly good job of converting from PAL to NTSC. Your MKV conversion may be another problem, but I would give it a try.

Yes, it is possible to convert a DVD this way. It is not a method I would recommend, nor one that will produce the best outcome, however it is a fast method, and if you are happy to do it this way, go ahead.

Personally, I would get a player that happily plays both formats, so this would not be an issue (actually, as I come from Australia, this is not an issue as most kit plays everything here). At the very least I would skip the mkv step as unnecessary, as any extra re-encoding reduces quality.
