I am trying to find a software package (open source, shareware, commercial) that will consistently convert video recorded with a Panasonic HD camcorder in the AVCHD format to something that I can burn to a standard DVD for playback in a normal DVD player.
I would also like to have the software support CUDA.
This is a process that is going to be repeated several times a week and I would like to have it as repeatable as possible.
I currently have Nero 8, Pinnacle Studio 11, and Mediacoder running on a Vista 64 Ultimate installation.
I have tried with MediaCoder but it always tells me that something is holding the video file open and it ultimately fails to do anything.
Open to any suggestions given in a language that a video processing newbie can understand.
TIA
J
