I've decided to get a lightscribe burner for my DVD projects, and yes, I've done a little research, and have downloaded the lightscribe system software, but I'm looking for suggestions for the image editing software I'll need to burn the lables to the disk.

As always, I'm on a tight budget, and would prefer free software, but i have a top end of $20.

I will gladly look into each suggestion made.

    Thanks

  2. SureThing CD/DVD Labeler works well. it has a 2 week free trial and if purchased on their website is about 25.

there used to be a basic label program on the lightscribe site for free, i haven't checked for awhile, it might still be available.

There are 2 on the lightscribe website, one is a basic text printer with borders, the second is a bunch of premade images, or so I gather, but I was after something with a bit more options than those. I will look into the SureThing CD/DVD Labeler as soon as I get the burner...in 3 weeks :P

Any other suggestions...possibly with longer trials?

Use any free image editor (Paint.net, Gimp) with a disc label template. I have one some where if Google doesn't find one for you .
Use the HP label tools to load the image, press a button and wait 20 minutes.
Linux _is_ user-friendly. It is not ignorant-friendly and idiot-friendly.
