Hi, Just starting out with BD burns and on my first try BDDecryptor does not work on ANY of my BDs. I get the message: 'Unable To Get AACS Keys From Disc'. Well, besides the other 100 questions that I have, like disc size and Drive space needed, how do I solve this problem? Should I be using a different program and is there 1 program that does it all?

  2. Is BDDecrypter the program that just came available a few days ago? If so, yours is the first report on it. It may be it has trouble with BD+ discs. That reminds me of MakeMKV, which supposedly can rip BD discs. I couldn't get it to work at all, but judging from the reviews, others can.

The only program AFAIK that can reliably rip Blu-Ray is AnyDVDHD, and it's not free. The free trial is fully functional, although settings cannot be saved and there are nag screens.

    Good luck.

So with all the programs I read about like , RipBot264, that's the only program that is reliable? Anyway, with all I'm reading about the maxing out of 4 core ccus and the amount of drive space needed, I think I'll wait a while till things get perfected and I get better equipment. Would it be better just to buy another BD player and do a disc to disc burn? Does a PS3 or home (Sony) unit have outputs that can be used for burning?

Do you mean Blu-Ray & DVD Decrypter from Voodoo software? You may have to download updated keys from their site. You have to have a decrypter to rip BD discs. DVDFab will also decrypt BDs. I haven't tried either program. I use AnyDVD HD.

RipBot will work with a decrypted disc, and so will BDRebuilder. The main movie on a BD disc is usually 25 - 30GB, so you need that much drive space to rip. Then if you convert the BD file to another format, such as MKV or others, you will need space for the converted file. If you have a BD that's less than 25GB, you could burn it directly to a BD RW disc. BD>MKV two pass conversion to a 8GB file takes me about six hours on a 3.3Ghz quad core PC.

You usually can't do a disc to disc burn of the whole BD disc, they are up to ~50GB in size. Besides, it would take a really long time and you may easily trash the disc you are writing to.

AnyDVD is the way to go --- remember that I often suggest freeware for many tasks. Sadly, this won't be one of them.

Any way to get it cheaper than the regular retail price? Yes, it's this one http://www.bluraydvddecrypter.com/ , so far NG with all my BDs and no reply on their forum. Maybe it's too new. So what media do you use for a 50gb BD, mine are 25 REs? So when someone says "RipBot will work with a decrypted disc, and so will BDRebuilder", they're wrong? Is there 1 program, that does it all or do you need a decryptor and a burning program? Not to cram too much into one thread but will an AMD 64 3200+ (1.99Ghz) with enough free space be able to handle it?

Yes but very slow to encode and your hdd(160gb) is a bit too small to really work with 50gb of files plus. You will run out of space fast.
