  1. for some reason when i take certain files now they freeze in the beginning of the movie and says that it will take the movie 51 hours to finish now i'm running an Athlon 1.3 so this seems nearly impossible does anyone know whats wrong with the file it only happens on certain ones, the movie plays fine but when trying to convert it it doesn't seem to work

    or are there any other programs that i could use ?

    asf are a streaming video source and sometimes if you have 2 drives this can be fixed by haveing the file otput to the next drive it is not on.

  5. TMPGenc12a (on this site, not anymore on tmpgenc.com) has saved the day, converting ASFs that later versions won't. I think some of the problem is glitches or intentional changes to the audio encoding in the ASF. There may be a slight pop at the transition but that is it.

  6. Use VirtualDub 1.3 (any higher version will not support ASF). If you have problems loading the ASF file, you need to use the ASF file fixer plugin for VDub. I found both Vdub 1.3 and the plugin using google.com. If you can't find them then e-mail me and I'll send you a copy of mine (about 700k). You can return the favor by viewing my posting at
