Which camcorder has the option to load movies on the camcorder and play them back? For instance edited videofiles that came from the camcorder or some other nice movies. I would appreciate this feature, because it provides me with an easy method to show some movies to my parents by connecting the camcorder to the TV.

tape is good. miniDV or HDV can be "printed" back to tape after editing with most full featured editors.

For some other reasons I would prefer flash memory or HDD. Is it possible with thos devices and what kind of software is required to author such content??

i would guess it depends on the cam and the software supplied with it. no normal editor can write-back to hdd or flash, but the cam may come with some software to do the job.

Tape will work. Rather than using a flash ram camcorder, consider a WD media player.
