I am currently using SUPER build 36, i was previously using an older version from a year back which worked just fine. Problem is in build 36, I am converting uncompressed AVI PAL 720x576 16:9PAR to H.264.

The video converts just fine BUT the audio has a significant audible click every 1 minute and 9 seconds. This then compounds and the audio click is heard again at 2:18, 3:27 etc. exactly every 1:09mins.

The source audio is clean and I have tried several different source files of varying lengths just to confirm there was no corruption in the original audio. Each time i tried with a different source the encoded AAC audio will still click at 1:09.

The previous version did not have this problem, I now regret going the update. The source audio is 48KHz which is I want to convert to AAC 44.1Khz . I also tried with the source AVI file at 44.1KHz because i thought there may be a problem transcoding between the different audio resolutions from 48 to 44.1 BUT still the same audio click at 1:09. Any suggestions? Listen here at 1:09, 2:18, 3:27 http://www.youtube.com/user/RobBredl#play/uploads/4/AqZWyl1XXdM

Well why not just go back to the build that worked?

eRightSoft makes it difficult to go back to a previous build of SUPER. When you install a version, it does something to make sure previous versions won't work if you install them. What, I don't know.

I think it may be an attempt to cut down on the amount of support requests for older versions - on their forums (and possibly the website, I don't remember), they were rather insistent that they only support the current/newest version.

Since the workings of Super are a bit opaque, it's hard to offer specific debugging advice. You can either wait for the Super guys to fix their code, or you can try to revert to an earlier build. Given Ai's comments, perhaps a third-party uninstall utility (like Revo; there are many others) will get the job done. Or if you are comfortable with regedit, you can do it that way.

Try MediaCoder too, it's also freeware and a bit more powerful then Super.

Hey thanks for your feedback guys. MysticE the previous version I had was a very old version when h.264 was first released, SUPER didn't offer a great deal of functionality or flexibility for modding H.264 in this early version, when I saw an update to build 36 was available, I went for it.

Ai Haibara I note from other forums that reverting SUPER back to previous versions can be very difficult, I think I will leave SUPER for a while and wait for the next build.

johns0, I tried Handbrake it didn't really offer the functionality that I would like to have. It seemed to be very much preset based.

triptych, I haven't tried MediaCoder, I'll download and give it a go.

I tried AnyVideoConverter yesterday, it also is very much based on Presets, I encoded a video from Uncompressed PAL -AVI 720x576 16:9PAR to H.264. The encoding worked fine, and looked OK but the pixel aspect ratio changed to sqaure pixels; hence making the video squished into a 4:3 frame. On YouTube the black pilarbox bars appear down each side. I have to explore AVC more to see if u can maintain the Aspect Ratio.

Thanks for your feedback everyone, much appreciated.
