    Hi

    How do i go about encoding video files in Div3 format. So they will play on a Divx player

    Are you really sure you need Div3? I've read that some DVD players will refuse to play files that use this in the FourCC field.

    Here's a sticky with a list of Divx encoding options that can cause playback problems on some DVD players. Unless you are sure that some of these are OK, you should avoid all of them just to be safe.

  3. Hmmm. I thought he meant they were in DIV3 and he needed to convert to DX50, Xvid, or whatever. Guess we'll have to wait for a reply...

    You may be right, but the original post is so vague that you and I interpreted it differently. You're probably right.

    The files are in DIV3 format. And i would like to convert them so they will be Divx player compatible

    You can use the tools jagabo suggested to recompress the videos. AVI Recomp might be the best choice from that list, depending on what player you have. But I'd also suggest AutoGK, with the ESS option enabled (MTK would be better, especially if you have a player with an MTK chipset, though it might be a little more compatible with more players using the ESS option. jagabo would know more about it than I do, I'm sure. )

    Also, be sure to keep the list of potential problems jman98 mentioned in mind.
