I am noticing more and more BlueRay rips on the net. Will they burn in Popcorn and play correctly on a normal DVD player NTSC?

Also, people are posting rips to the net and do not state if they are PAL or NTSC..... How do you know before burning so you don't waste a DVD that will not play on your NTSC player?

    Thank You!

You really need to do research on the following:
    [s:69ba320957]Popcorn Hour[/s:69ba320957]
    Blu-ray
    DVD
If you googled your way here, you can google your way to information on the above subjects.

Your post is beyond newbie. It's simply lazy and very near idiotic gibberish. It's like saying "A lot of people are getting fish from India that is made of beef. How do I make sure that it is really beef, because I am allergic to fish?"

Also, you are talking about illegal downloads. There is no such thing as legit "rip" available on the net. Content originates digitally, so there is no need to rip it, unless it is for illegal means (as in, you don't have the original content).

Supreme2k - By 'Popcorn,' I believe Reesche is referring to this: http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/popcorn/standard/overview.html , not Popcorn Hour.

PAL is 25 frames per second. NTSC is 29.97 or 23.976 fps. MediaInfo for Mac will tell you that. http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download/Mac_OS
The framesizes may also be different, but that depends on how it was encoded.
