-i won't be able to use my BD source again for a couple weeks, my brother burrowed the bluray drive
-trying to convert 720p.DTS.x264.mkv to XviD.avi with 640x272 resolution & VBR MP3 audio
i tried GK with an AVS that lets me use MKV input...gordian knot can not read audio from .mkv input, so i extract DTS audio track using mkvextractgui...but everytime i set up GK to encode the rip, azidts.exe crashes and GK skips the entire audio ripping process, logs are below my questions (keep in mind i cancelled the rip after the audio crashed)
Q: -is there a filter/plugin/app/etc. i need or is there simply no way to convert DTS straight to VBR MP3?
-how about converting DTS to AC3 to VBR MP3

It wasn't necessary to include the log. Have you ever converted DTS to MP3 outside of GKnot? No? It has nothing to do with GKnot. You're just not set up to do it. And even if you are, don't expect GKnot to do it for you. Do it yourself and just add the resulting MP3 audio to the video by pointing to the audio and ticking "just mux" in the Encoding Control Panel of the Encoder Tab. Also check the "Re-Calculate Video Bitrate" box.
-i included the logs cuz i did not know GK & besweet would not work with DTS or what audio app(s) others would suggest if just mux was my only option
no problem doing it myself, "just mux" method is fine with me, i just wanted to cover all bases cuz this is the first time i tried encoding DTS audio on my MKV's or any other video, sorry & thanx for the foobar info, bye...
