    Hi,

I have been trying to convert the following file:

    HD-720, High Definition 1280 x 720
    File size: 6.5GB
    Format : MPEG-TS
Video: AVC at 7 951 Kbps
    Aspect : 1280 x 720 (1.778) at 50.000 fps
Audio : AAC at 132.3 Kbps
    Infos : 2 channels, 48.0 KHz

So far I`ve mostly been trying to convert it to AVI DivX while keeping the bitrate at 7951 Kbps
And whatever I do, two problems arise...

    1) no sound whatsoever
    2) the video is somehow sped up and way too fast (like fast-forward)

Anyone got any idea how I could successfully convert it?

Have you tried AutoGK? If you want to convert it down to 25fps go to the "secret menu" cnt F9 and select 25fps. Otherwise try demuxing the file into separate audio and video streams and then remux as a conventional MPEG2 file. Finally VSO ConvertXtoDVD will handle these files. I often use ConvertXtoDVD as a conversion step just to get a set of VOB files that are easy to edit in other programs. It is very quick if you have a newish computer.

Thanks for your reply. Both programs you mentioned are Windows though, and I`m on a Mac. (I thought this was the Mac subforum, no?!)

But I will try the demuxing. Guess I`ll just use MPEGStreamclip?

Didn't notice the category - oops. But yes MPEGStreamclip to demux and then Final Cut Pro if you have it?

MPEGStreamclip didn`t work. Howerever way I demuxed it, when I wanted to mux it again it kept saying "unknown format". (WTF!)

But I was quite successful with iSquint which has been the most reliable converter thus far. I just gotta figure the presets to ensure minimal quality loss.
