  1. Hi all,

I am trying to convert mkv files using alltoavi and the do get created and look good but they are not in xvid but in some other form of avi. I do have ffdshow, is that program some how over riding the xvid in alltoavi? If so how can I get around this?

    Thanks for any help.

Drop one into MediaInfo or Gspot and let us know what format they are in. Post a screen shot if you like. If you selected Xvid, it should end up in Xvid. I don't use AlltoAVI much, so another member may be able to give you specifics.

  5. Looks like h.264. Switch to Xvid or Divx.

  6. Hello,

The problem is on the h.264 mkv convert it is supposed to switch automatically to xvid, and it is not letting me select anything type. does any one have a better way to convert over mkv to Xvid or Divx to make a divx dvd to play on dvd player?

    Thanks...

P.S. Sorry for the size I did not know if there was a file size attachment limit.

I don't use Alltoavi but maybe you have it set to remux, not to reencode?

I would use VirtualDub but that will require a little learning on your part. I don't do much with MKV sources but maybe Xvid4psp will work? Or AviDemux?
