I've done a bit of searching on google, and almost all software i've found that can enable the DV camera as a webcam requires paying for. Now i have no problem with this (if i have to), however I want to know that the software is worthwhile before I do. And if theres free software out there...i want that!

So, Anyone use their DV Cam as a webcam at all? What software do you use / would recommend? And anyone know of any free ones?

It needs to be able to work in general communication packages, mainly Live Messenger and Skype.

    Cheers for advice.

The old standby was WebcamDV. I think it is still being sold.

Also, most Video for Windows capture systems (analog S-Video) are detected by webcam software.
