I have created a video using Panasonic Lumix FZ50 camera. The camera created a MOV file of 38,808kb.The video does not display smoothly. I have no clue what the problem is and how to fix it. I have Adobe Premiere Elements 3.
Could I upload it somewhere so someone could perhaps look at it, identify the problem and suggest a fix?
    Thank you in advance,
    Nathan

  2. I'm pretty sure that camera produces MJPEG video and PCM audio in a MOV container. A 2.8 GHz P4 should be able to play that smoothly. Try a player like VLC which has built in codecs and decent performance. Quicktime Player is the pits -- on Windows, at least.

I am using the VLC player. Also want to include it in a show made with Photodex Proshow Gold.

  4. If you want others to look at it you can upload to any of the file transfer sites like:

    http://www.mediafire.com/
    http://rapidshare.com/
    http://www.sendspace.com/

You can examine the file properties with MediaInfo.

Thank you for helping me out like this.

  6. It's 320x240 MJPEG, 30 fps. My computer is much faster than a 2.8 GHz P4 (quad core Q6600) but I get less than 1 percent CPU usage while playing it with VLC. Can you convert it to something else with Premiere Elements?

I have Premiere Elements 3 and Movie Maker 2. I haven't done anything with videos so I am still learning. What is the problem with this video? Is it the resolution or something else? What should I look to convert it to?
Thank you again for being so patient with me.

  8. Just because a video can't be played smoothly doesn't mean it can't be converted to produce something that does. Try converting to MPEG 2 for DVD.

I found that I can do MPEG 2 for DVD using Premiere Elements 3.
When I tried to play back this file with VLC it was supposedly playing it but the screen stayed black, no image.
So what am I doing wrong now?
Thanks again for staying with me on this.

  10. That's a bit hard to diagnose. Could you see the video in PE3 when you opened the MOV file? Can you post the MPEG 2 file, or a short segment?

I think that I simply don't know what I am doing in PE3 and will need a few days to better understand it.
