    Is there a good free program that allows splitting ,resizing and merging of partition hard drives.

    They have an ISO file that will set up a bootable cd with partitioning tools etc.

    I second that. I used it to shrink and extend partitions and to make room for Windows7.

    I haven't yet risked using it on an OS partition. I did use it to create blank disk space then used Vista Disk Manage to enlarge the Vista partition.

    In the past I had to move drives to an XP machine to use Partition Magic 8.
