I want to create high quality DVD. I export as 1080i 30p. What kind of setting should I use in premiere pro if I export as 264h quicktime format??

If you intend to make a real DVD that will play in a DVD player you need to do several steps.

    Set up a 1440x1080p 29.97fps custom template.
    Import and edit your clips
    Resize to 720x480p, 29.97fps
    Encode to 720x480i, 29.97fps
    Author your DVD.

Quicktime h.264 is not playable on a DVD player.

I think he means 30p mode which is sent as separate fields and appears as 1080i when sent through IEEE-1394. This is normal since 30p is not directly supported. It must be disguised as 1080i. Similar dance for telecined 24p.

  6. yeah i know. i have an hv30 and shoot 30p. in order to use it you have to have an editor that you can change the .m2t file properties in, like vegas, premiere or squeeze. at least i don't have to inverse telecine the 30p like i do with the 24p before using.
