Hi, I have just bought a new Mini DV camcorder. It's a Samsung camcorder that is not compatible with iMovie, it doesn't worked and I searched the list of compatible camcorders for iMovie and it was not listed.

So I now have Final Cut Express, and would just want to know how you import you clips on the tape onto the programme.

Thanks a lot and take care

If it is a MiniDV camcorder and has a Firewire port, it should work. You must use a Firewire (IEEE-1394) cable. Set the camcorder to "Play" or "VCR" mode and iMovie or Final Cut Experss should detect it.

The problem is the camera isn't compatible with iMovie (the camcorder is a SAMSUNG VP-D381), someone told me to try Final Cut Express, so now that i've got it, I just wanted to know how you do it, because I connect de the Firewire cable 6 inch into the computer and 4 inch into the camera, and nothing appears. At the moment I can only get the Capture mode set up, but I still don't know how to import the tape files.

    Thanks a lot
