    Hi there,

a friend of us, owns a cabin in Canada, therefore he bought an LCD TV with a DVD player inside
(Model: Insignia NS-LDVD32Q-10A) he took lots of his stuff fm home (germany) with him
and when he wanted to play these dvds on his brandnew tv he figured out that this is the wrong region code
Does anybody know a way to get this tv/DVD regionfree or at least change the code so he can use his dvds???
thx in advance to you all

Combo players (DVD/TV combos like this, DVD/VCR combos), home theater DVD players and portables rarely can be unlocked. There is no harm to ask here and maybe you will be lucky and someone will have a code that works, but since this is a TV/DVD player combo, you probably will not be able to unlock it.

It is possible to use a PC to rip the DVD to a hard drive. Ripping removes all region coding. Then you could shrink the DVD to single layer size if necessary and burn a new DVD. This does not take into account any NTSC-PAL playback issues that may or may not occur with this TV/DVD player.

Region Coding ist nur die Hälfte des Problems.
Deutschland ist PAL format video und Kanada ist NTSC format video.
Eine Dvd aus Deutschland funktioniert nicht in einem kanadische oder amerikanische DVD-Spieler.

    Sorry...."Denglisch"...

Ja, indeed that might be a bigger problem. Unless that Insignia player can handle PAL, there's no point in trying to hack the region control. Before launching into a grand search for a region hack, first verify that the Insignia can actually play PAL vids. If not, then you will have saved yourself a lot of time.
